A Day in the Life: Jimmy's BuddyRider® Adventure in Burlington, Canada

If you find yourself passing through Burlington, Ontario on a bright afternoon, keep an eye out for a sight that's hard to miss along Waldoncroft Crescent: John making his rounds on the tractor, with Jimmy — his devoted four-legged companion — riding in the BuddyRider® carrier up front like he was born for it.

"It was a long day of work," John says, chuckling as he scrolls through a few snapshots. "Sorry I'm so dirty in some of them." Dirty or not, the photos speak for themselves: Jimmy settled in comfortably, ears up, soaking in every moment of the journey.

John will tell you Jimmy has no preference when it comes to transport. "He loves the BuddyRider® whether it's the bike or the tractor." What began as a sensible workaround has turned into something they both look forward to. As Jimmy's eyesight has faded over the years, keeping him tucked in safely up front beats having him trail along behind. "Honestly, it's safer for both of us this way."

John may be down to one dog these days, but he still runs two BuddyRider® setups — one fitted to his bike back home in Burlington, and another mounted on the tractor at the cottage. "I didn't grab a second receiver yet, but I'm thinking about it for this summer," he admits. "It's not urgent, but having everything ready to go in both spots just makes things smoother."

The neighbours have taken notice, too. "They get a real kick out of seeing Jimmy cruise past on the tractor like he's in charge." Around here, it's become the kind of thing people look forward to — the Burlington duo on their daily circuit, one at the controls and one keeping watch.

John's always keen to hear what's new. "Feel free to let me know about any updates or new designs — I'd love to try them out with Jimmy and send some photos your way."

From early mornings on the job to lazy cottage weekends, from two wheels to four, Jimmy's BuddyRider® rides have woven themselves into the fabric of life in Burlington, Ontario.

And if you're ever passing through and spot a dog rolling by with the confidence of someone who owns the place — now you know who it is.

Jimmy is a big part of why we do what we do.

Let's go, Jimmy. Let's go!
